Loopy

Casio Loopy · 1995–1998

One of the strangest consoles ever sold — Casio's 1995 'My Seal Computer,' a Japan-only machine marketed exclusively to girls, built around a thermal sticker printer that turned game screens into physical stickers. The library is tiny, around a dozen titles, almost all dating sims, creative tools and shōjo-themed software, and almost none ever discussed outside Japan. That combination — a minuscule library, a single unusual market, near-total Western obscurity — makes a complete Casio Loopy set one of the most difficult and prized ultra-niche import-collecting goals in the hobby, sought by the most dedicated Japanese-platform completists.

Three titles to know

1996
LUPITON NO WONDER PALETTE

One of the last and rarest Casio Loopy titles — a late release in a tiny library that anchors the very high end of collecting for the platform. Emblematic of the extreme scarcity that defines a complete Loopy set.

Among the hardest Loopy titles to find; complete copies command very high prices.
1995
WANWAN AIJOU MONOGATARI

A launch-window dog-raising title emblematic of the Loopy's entire pitch — gentle, creative, sticker-driven software for a single niche market. The defining example of what the platform was built to be.

A core early title; its place in the platform's identity, not scarcity alone, is the draw.

First-print indicators

01
Tiny, completable library

With around a dozen titles, a complete Casio Loopy set is a defined but very difficult goal. The whole library, and the difficulty of finishing it, frames how the platform is collected.

02
Sticker printer & accessories

The console's built-in thermal sticker printer and its peripherals (including the Magical Shop video-capture add-on) are part of a complete setup and a distinct hardware-collecting axis.

03
Japan-only packaging

Every Loopy title is a Japanese release. Obi strips, boxes and inserts are part of completeness on a platform where complete copies are exceptionally scarce.

04
Condition & provenance

Given the tiny surviving population, condition and provenance dominate value. Complete, clean copies of any Loopy title are uncommon enough to anchor serious collections.
