Coleco's 1982 console arrived with a killer pitch — arcade-perfect ports, led by a pack-in Donkey Kong that humiliated the 2600's version — and briefly looked like the future before the 1983 crash cut it down within two years. The library is small (around 145 titles) and high-quality, weighted toward strong arcade conversions, and its collecting market is led by the late releases that shipped in tiny numbers as Coleco collapsed. The platform's expansion modules (the Atari-2600-compatible Module 1, the Module 2 driving controller) add a layer of hardware collecting, and the brevity of its life makes a complete library a defined, rewarding goal.
