Why collectors care

eleased by Bandai in March 1987 for the NES as a Family Fun Fitness mat-controller title, Stadium Events shipped to a small US test market before Nintendo acquired the rights, recalled the Bandai inventory, and rebranded the title as World Class Track Meet bundled with the NES Power Pad. The Bandai-published original is the rarest commercial NES release.

Stadium Events is the apex single-title NES collectible. Roughly 2,000 Bandai-branded copies shipped before the Nintendo acquisition; surviving NTSC-U copies are estimated below 200, sealed examples in the low double digits. Sealed WATA 9.0+ trades have closed between $42,000 and $420,000 at Heritage since 2020 depending on grade band. The single most consequential first-print indicator on any NES box is the Bandai logo.
