SMB3 is the bridge between the early Black Box NES era and the late-cycle production runs that filled millions of American living rooms in 1990–91. The matte-finish first print is structurally rarer than the later glossy reprints, and the Player's Choice variant is a separate collector category. Sealed copies trade in the WATA 9.0–9.6 band as one of the most consistently appreciating NES titles of the past decade.
